Bobcats sweep twinbill with Midway

The first game was a case of outlasting and outperforming the other team.

Things began with the Bobcats scoring on a wild pitch in the first inning.

Midway responded in the bottom of the frame with a two-run single from Morrison to make the score 2-1.

A single by William Eddings and a balk called on the Green Wave pitcher led to two more runs for Oliver Springs in the second frame.

The third inning saw the Bobcats add on another to make the score 4-2 following a dropped third streak.

Brennan Reed hit a home run the fourth frame to bring Midway close to retaking the lead but it wasn’t enough.

Liam Boeke was the winning pitcher. He allowed four hits and five runs in four and two-thirds innings.

McClure was the losing pitcher. He struck out seven, but walked eight.

Dakota Adkins got the save.

Game Two

The second game was a little closer with the Bobcats edging Midway for the decision.

A two-run walk off double by Bryson Rice in the fifth inning ensured the night cap ended in Oliver Springs’ favor.

The Green Wave stared things after a Peyton Steele and Evan Lemons scored two runs.

Jackson Daugherty earned the win for the Bobcats. He pitched two and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and no runs.

Lemons was hit with the loss. He went four and two-thirds innings on the mound while allowing four runs on five hits and struck out nine.
