The qualifying deadline for the Aug. 1 election is next week. Candidates wanting to run must have their paperwork in by noon on Thursday, April 4.
Twenty candidates had filed as of March 26, according to the information posted by the Roane County Election Commission.
That group included Molly Leggins Hartup (Property Assessor), Timothy A. Johnson and Cheryl Wester-Laxton (Harriman City Council), Wayne Best (Harriman Mayor), Ann Ayers-Colvin (Republican State Executive Committeewoman District 12), Jeremiah Cantrell, Glenn Gabriel, Edward B. Greif and Larry Works (District 1 School Board), Jason J. Bagnell, Shane Best and Danny Wright (District 2 School Board), Rob Jago (District 5/6 School Board) and Nadine Jackson (District 7 School Board). Others on the already filed list are Monty G. Fritts (District 32 Tennessee House of Representatives), Ed Butler and Joel Derek Hawn (District 41 Tennessee House of Representatives) and Teena Hedrick, Ken Yager and Charles Hutson II (District 12 Tennessee Senate).
The withdrawal deadline for qualified candidates is April 11 at noon.
